Flute and Wind Ensemble Workshops at Dulwich College Puxi
I’d like to express my deepest gratitude to Dulwich College Puxi Shanghai. Last week, they invited me to lead a series of flute and wind ensemble workshops and masterclasses. It was a great privilege to work with their talented students. I helped encourage their musical dreams and aspirations.
The amazing music department, led by Mr. Jonathan Haslett and headed by Mr. Peter Sinclair, provided an extraordinary platform. It was here that I was able to serve as a flute educator, performer, and wind ensemble/flute choir conductor. We explored a wide range of musical pieces and focused on techniques that improve tone, intonation and ensemble playing. This allowed me to serve as a flute educator, performer, and wind ensemble conductor. In fact, the entire experience was incredibly rewarding.

No doubt to say that, these flute and wind ensemble workshops are a fantastic way to deepen students’ appreciation for music and develop their skills in a collaborative setting. Beyond just technical skills, we focused on teamwork and communication, which are essential for any successful ensemble. I strongly believe that these experiences help shape well-rounded musicians and prepare them for future musical endeavors, whether in a professional setting or simply for the love of playing.
Once again, thank you for inviting me to join you all in this great tradition and culture. It was an honor to be a part of your community, and I look forward to working with your wonderful students, staff, and faculty again in the near future!
